Sarah Grounds
Founder/Executive Director
A founding member of The City Lights Foundation of Oklahoma, Sarah has been married to her husband Jason since March of 2000. Together, and with friends, they began Night Light Tulsa in 2013. They have 3 children, Benjamin, Elizabeth, and Isaac who have been part of the City Lights journey since its beginning. Prior to City Lights, Sarah worked as an ICU nurse, specifically with Neuro and Trauma patients, for thirteen years at Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa.
Sarah is responsible for ensuring the mission, vision, strategies, core values, and goals of City Lights are carried out. She believes deeply in these things and strives to daily carry out a lifestyle of service and community.
Sarah received her AA from York College (York, NE) in 1999 and her BSN from East Central University (Ada, OK) in 2002. Sarah was awarded the Paragon Award from Leadership Tulsa in 2021 and the City Lights team received an Excellence Award from The Oklahoma Center for Nonprofits in 2022.
